Who We Are

We take A.A. meetings to people who are confined to hospitals and treatment and corrections facilities in San Francisco.

Our participating facilities include:

  • San Francisco Jail

  • San Bruno Jail

  • St. Mary’s Hospital

  • Harbor Lights

  • Friendship House

  • SF General

An H&I volunteer and a partner bring one meeting a month into one of our facilities. We also distribute A.A. literature

The first H&I meeting was held at San Quentin Prison in 1942. We now bring meetings to more that three dozen sites, providing several hundred meetings a month.
